Whether you are traveling alone or with someone, traveling on a more luxurious level or backpacking, whether it is a 1 week trip  or a 6 month trip, there's a top 10 accessories that are essential while traveling and that you will not regret for taking them with you, quite the opposite, they will be a lifesaver.
In all my travels these accessories always come with me and with them I travel safer, more comfortably and with more organization.

I'll share them with you so you can make the most of them too :)

  1- Collapsible Water Bottle

Carrying a bottle of water with you is a very smart thing to do. That way you can always stay hydrated and save money by not buying several bottles of water a day. It can get quite uncomfortable when you are thirst and, for example, the stores don't accept ATMs and you don't have any cash, or you just can't find any stores at all. It should also be noted that in many countries water is not drinkable, which makes it impossible to drink water from a tap.

This bottle has become my favorite because it is collapsible and therefore takes up less space. It's practical and cute, I love it!

2- Drink Covers for Protection

You'll love this one, especially if you're a solo female traveler like me.

Traveling safely is my top priority and I'd always prefer to be safe than sorry. Even if you are not a party person and you rarely go to one while traveling, there is always the possibility of going to your hostel common area for some chit chat or having a few drinks with people you meet during your trip. At this point it is not even relevant if the drinks contain alcohol if not, the important thing is that your drink must be always protect and that no one can take advantage of any moment of distraction that you may have.

Again, as a solo traveler this item is even more important to have as you are the only one looking out for your safety. But I would say to anyone that this is a very cool item to have in any trip.

3- Portable Door Lock

For anyone staying in a private room and wanting an extra dose of security you have to have this.

It is a special door lock that does not allow anyone to open the door from the outside, even if having the key. Only you and whoever is inside the room will be able to open it. With this you will feel more secure and more comfortable in the hotel and in the room and you will sleep better.

4- Packing Cubes

When it comes to tidying and organizing your bag, it's not always an easy or quick task. Taking everything out of the suitcase and putting it back in a different way so that everything fits or leaving a few things behind due to lack of space, who hasn’t?

Since I started using packing cubes it has been much faster to pack and I can carry a lot more things. Everything is compacted inside the cubes so takes up less space.

This was a lifesaver when I had to pack for 6 months of travel in a 32L suitcase :) I highly recommend

5- Microfiber Travel Towel

Especially for those staying in hostels, having a towel with you is important.

More and more hostels charge for towels or deliver towels in bad conditions so taking one with you can be super handy.

I also use a foot mat to make it more practical and hygienic for me to walk with my feet on the floor in the changing rooms or bedroom while I get dressed

6- Combination Padlock

Unless you are staying in rooms with a personal safe, you will need a padlock to keep all your belongings in your locker. I also wear one in my backpack whenever I walk with it on the street. I like to use padlocks with code instead of key because they are more secure.

7- Inflatable Travel Pillow

A very basic item, but quite important! Mainly to use on the plane and during bus trips.

It increases the comfort of my travels on a very significant level, especially the long ones.

I choose an inflatable one because when empty it barely takes up space in the backpack.

8- Eye Mask and Ear Plugs

Also quite basic but an absolutely  must have. These two items are my sleep guardians, without them my nights in the hostels wouldn't be so peaceful.

The eye mask to cut the light and the earplugs to cut out the sound are super important! Believe me

9- Travel Pill Organizer

No matter what kind of trip you are planning to do, having a medicine kit is super important. Having SOS pills at your disposal can save you a lot of pain and discomfort. Whether it's a headache, an ear infection or a flu.

As much as we're not counting on any of that, there's always the possibility that we may have it.

And how good it is to be able to kill the cause right away instead of going to a hospital or to a pharmacy.

10- Personal Keychain Alarm

A self defense keychain with loud siren and high-intensity strobe light could be very handy during a situation where you don't feel safe. That way you could call for help and make yourself heard. For solo female travelers this could be something that makes you walk around with much more confidence.
